Business Description

Chris Schmitt is an international wedding and portrait photographer based in Thousand Oaks California. His images have been published in media outlets such as the Today Show, OWN Network, Good Morning America, Los Angeles Magazine, Instyle, Destination Wedding Magazine, The Knot, Brides Magazine, Ceremony Magazine, J-Date, SELF, Grace Ormonde, California Wedding Day Magazine and dozens of wedding blogs and websites. He has also been seen on the Wedding Reality T.V Show, For Better or for Worse on TLC. Last year, the studio celebrated photographing their 400th wedding!

Before photographing weddings, Chris had the incredible experience of working with legendary celebrity and fashion photographers including Annie Leibowitz, David la Chapelle, Bruce Weber, Matthew Rolston, Peggy Sirota and many others who all inspired him to pursue his own photography career. Those years of watching the masters at work inspired him to bring a sense of style, fashion, elegance and fun to his wedding portraits.

"Andrea and I are often asked what our style of photography is and the short answer is we feel that a great wedding photographer has to have a blend of styles and a bag of tricks to be ready to use on wedding day. Weddings are so different from commercial work where you are in control of the talent and lighting all day long. On a typical wedding, you not only have every type of lighting condition to contend with, but you have the added element of emotion that needs to be captured in all those various lighting conditions. On any given day we see it all...from laughter to tears to joy and romance. We strive to both blend into the scene as photojournalists to capture these candid moments and also be able to step in when needed to direct and capture important times like the family portraits.

Our passion for photographing weddings has taken us around the world documenting one of the most special days in a couple's life and we feel honored to be chosen for this. We truly love what we do for a living!"

Chris is married to the love of his life, Andrea, who also happens to be the other half and primary photographer for CSP. When they are not taking pictures, you can often find them hanging out with their two kids Sawyer and Siena. "We are big kids ourselves and we believe in a good balance of working hard to play hard. We are excited to celebrate our 12th year anniversary this year!"
